paranormal activity a quick review

Well im not easily scared but "wow" what a film, Me and the wife sat down to watch paranormal activity, me thinking this was going to be a low budget run of the mill horror, boy i was wrong, the setting is a house, just a normal house in california, where a young professional couple live, oh and of course the "entity", the guy works at home as a day trader and the woman is a language teacher, the film starts off with the guy having just purchased a video camera to try and catch on tape the paranormal activity that has been witnessed by the couple, the film is shot through this camera and so looks like a home movie. on a night the camera is set up on a tripod facing the couples bed along with audio recording, This is where most of the paranormal activity is captured, Without giving too much away there is a lot of activity but not too much to make the film look fake, The director has gone to the limit of what makes a good scary movie but never steps too far and in my opinion this is what makes it a great film, It never gets fake or false and resembles what ones imagination may think a paranormal house would be like. better than blair witch
